Faith or the lack thereof
Last week I went to the Dr. again to see how my leg is coming along and I was really hoping for some improvement at the least maybe even to get the cast off. After all, I had been praying and believing that it would be better. I was completely devastated however when she came in and told me there was no difference whatsoever. I don't remember the last time I had been so upset. I cried hard for at least an hour after leaving there. I just started thinking about faith and what it really means. I truly thought I had faith and I guess I just thought my faith was like a candy machine. You put in enough and you get what you want. After sitting for yet another week, I realized that there was no reason other than my selfish ones, for that cast to come off that soon, and that God probably doesn't appreiate my attitude of "I deserve a miracle, now where is it?"
Faith is not something to charge up on when you need it to come through. It is something you need to have 24/7 even when nothing is going your way, when you pour your heart out nightly to God and all you hear is... silence. When the next 4 months of your life is hanging on what a Dr. tells you. That's when you need to have faith. God wants to see that your faith will remain the same when the sun is shining and when all hell breaks loose. I need to fall back on one of my favorite quotes.
"Don't tell God how big your storm is. Tell the storm how big your God is"
